Vice President Kamala Harris opened her speech at the 32nd anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act by describing herself: “I am Kamala Harris. My pronouns are ‘she’ and ‘her,’ and I am a woman sitting at the table wearing a blue suit.”
The video, which is currently making rounds on social media platforms, has drawn strong reactions from political opponents and the media. If it’s a sign of things to come, America is in trouble.
“Are we looking at a constitutional situation where Kamala Harris might be the situation that we’re gonna have to deal with? But on a level of somebody that had to stand in ranks in the military and then the vice president of the United States just sat there at that table and said, ‘I’m wearing a blue suit,’ saying her pronouns, what have you, we’ve already looked weak, ” Chad Caton lamented during the July 28 episode of “I’m Fired Up” on Brighteon.TV.
He asked his guest DC Patriot founder Matt Couch: “How far are we from falling off of that pit?”
Couch, a political analyst, said: “It’s close, man. I mean, it’s scary right now at this point in time. We’re the ‘laughing stock’ of the world.”
At least for now, the Americans can also afford to laugh at Harris. Florida Senator Marco Rubio jokingly described himself as a “man on the screen with a gray suit on” when he guested on Fox Business, drawing laughter from the host and perhaps millions of American viewers.
The Atlantic staff writer Graeme Wood said the vice president was “hopelessly liberal or simply out of her mind” as she “sounded so much like she was from outer space.”
Harris’ defenders are saying she simply did a visual self-description, a practice meant to better include the blind and low-vision viewers in meetings.
A lot of people are seeing Harris as a potential nominee of the Democratic Party in the 2024 presidential election if President Joe Biden decides against a second term.
“There are people advocating and cheerleading for her to be the president United States, it’s going to happen. And the sad thing is, I’ll take ‘dementia Joe’ over Kamala Harris, because at least you know, he’s not going to cackle and laugh at the thought of the brink of nuclear war or invasions,” Couch pointed out.
Nile Gardiner, a Washington-based foreign policy expert, was left astonished by the comments regarding the VP’s opening message at the meeting. He tweeted: “This is just insane. The Biden Presidency is an Orwellian nightmare.”
A recent Fox News poll found that only 39 percent of Americans view Harris favorably while 56 percent view her unfavorably. (Related: Kamala Harris a ‘soul-destroying bully’ who lacks self-confidence, according to former staff.)
“I would not support a Democratic ticket or her,” said Kristine, a Virginia mother. “She’s not the greatest representative that this country can ask for.”
Caton described the current administration as a “political toilet bowl.”
“We are even offering up a war criminal now to release,” quipped Couch in support of Caton’s description. Couch was referring to the proposed swap of notorious arms dealer Viktor Bout for WNBA player Brittney Griner and Paul Whelan.
According to CNN, the Russians sent the request to the Biden administration earlier this month through an informal backchannel used by a spy agency known as the Federal Security Service (FSB). As per the sources, sending back the convicted Russian arms trafficker serving a 25-year U.S. prison sentence is seen as part of a potential deal to secure the release of two Americans held by Russia, Griner and Whelan.
The spokesperson for the National Security Council Adrienne Watson said: “Holding two wrongfully detained Americans hostage for the release of a Russian assassin in a third country’s custody is not a serious counter-offer. It is a bad faith attempt to avoid the deal on the table that Russia should take.”
Since February, Griner has been in Moscow jail for trying to walk through Russian customs with a vaping pen filled with cannabis oil.
She pleaded guilty to a drug-smuggling charge on July 28 after months of being held in Russian detention. And now the potential prison swap is being worked on, but analysts say this could turn out to be a complex process with serious implications.
“People like LeBron James and the Biden administration are trying to act like Vladimir Putin grabbed Brittney Griner because she was a celebrity. Nobody knows who Brittney Griner is and nobody cares. And now we’re going to trade this idiot who brought weed into Russia for a known war criminal. This is brilliant,” Couch said.
